Scout Sub Aqua Experience

1st March 2020 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

We have been approached Chester Sub Aqua Club and they have once again offered a great opportunity for Mersey Weaver Scouts to have a go at Scuba Diving! The Try Dive is on offer to all Scouts from all Troops on a first come first served basis.
To maximise the number of Scouts able to participate in the experience we will be offering four sessions over the course of the day.
Format
During the Try Drive, each participant will have their own dedicated instructor. Scouts will become familiar with the equipment, start to breathe underwater and experience the feeling of weightlessness as they gain basic buoyancy skills. The experience will count as one of the Activities required to earn the Adventure Challenge Badge as well as the Water Activities Activity Badge. Every participant will receive a try dive pack and certificate. They will also get some photographs of them while they are Diving.
The day will be split into four sessions and Scouts will get an hour of diving in groups of  8. While one group is in the pool the other will get a tour around the boats plus a basic talk about diving and exploring wrecks around the British Isle which finishes with a Q&A.
